Insurance

If you have medical or dental insurance coverage, our knowledgeable team at Clark Holmes Smith will work together with you to maximize your insurance reimbursement. This is the course of events that will take place before, during, and after your surgical procedure when working with insurance:

Our team will review your insurance coverage prior to your appointment to estimate, with as much accuracy as possible, what your services will be, what your insurance policy covers of those services, and what the remaining balance (your expected costs) will be. This estimate will be communicated to you so that you know what to bring the day of your treatment.

The day of treatment you will be required to pay your estimated portion. After your treatment is complete, the clinical team will itemize the services rendered and a claim will be filed to your insurance company on your behalf. Most surgical services performed are the same, or very close, to the estimated treatment plan, but there is always a possibility that something can occur during surgery that necessitates filing additional procedure codes (which in turn may generate additional charges and affect the original estimate).

Within a few weeks of your treatment, we should receive payment for your claim from your insurance company. After insurance has paid their portion, any remaining unpaid balance will be billed to the guarantor of the account. We emphasize that it is the guarantor’s responsibility to pay the balance on the account regardless of anticipated insurance coverage.
